HOHHOT - In an effort to combat the novel coronavirus epidemic people in China have been urged to stay at home as much as possible. Among them, a group of social sports instructors provide home fitness guidance through Vlogs on Weibo, WeChat and other social media.

"My task is to help more people keep fit and color their indoor life," said Song Lingmin, a state-level social sports instructor from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

As some common exercises are not suitable for people to practice indoor and equipments are limited at home, Song and other social sports instructors created fitness movements that are easy to learn and do.

After receiving the task of recording indoors fitness videos from the Inner Mongolia Sports Bureau, Song composed an aerobic dance in half a day.

"It's a free dance that moves the whole body," she said. "People can exercise their cardiopulmonary function and enhance immunity with the simple dance."

Song recorded her first video and shared it on the Inner Mongolia Sports Bureau's WeChat public account. She also arranged some other fitness movements, many of which can be performed by using common furniture at home.

Chairs and mineral water bottles are two fitness "helpers" in her eyes.

"Exercisers can choose the bottles with different weight and size that are suitable to do pushing and stretching practice," she said. "Even seniors can finish it while sitting in a chair."

"In addition, people could practice swinging badminton and table tennis rackets," Song said. "If people have different options for indoor body building, they are more likely to stick with it."

"To help others seek suitable fitness methods and pleasure from life is my greatest happiness," Song said.
