New virus detection lab puts into trial operation in Wuhan

BEIJING - A new virus detection lab has been put into trial operation in Wuhan, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus outbreak, to speed up the testing of novel coronavirus infection, according to the People's Daily Thursday.
The lab named "Huoyan" was jointly constructed by the local government and other institutions. It has a floor area of about 2,000 square meters and is designed to test 10,000 samples per day.
The lab will help provide Wuhan and its surrounding cities with sufficient testing capabilities, according to the report.
