By Jan 30, the Health Commission of Gansu Province had urgently developed and deployed four types of information systems for the prevention and control of pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus, and had expressed a commitment to strengthening the "anti-epidemic line".

The four systems are the monitoring system for the outbreak of new coronavirus pneumonia cases, the mobile phone app for investigation of suspected pneumonia patients coming or returning to Gansu, the online consultation and diagnosis platform for the new coronavirus pneumonia, and the self-examination and reporting platform for the new coronavirus pneumonia.

Launched on Jan 28, the online consultation and diagnosis platform for new coronavirus pneumonia has had a total of 69,784 visitors, and completed online consultation and diagnosis of 1,793 by Jan 31.

The platform provides free online consultation and psychological counseling on the new coronavirus pneumonia and related diseases for people who are isolated at home and have symptoms such as colds and fevers.

It can effectively screen out suspected cases of new pneumonia, reduce unnecessary staff turnover and the number of fever outpatients in medical institutions, and decrease cross-infection in hospitals.

The public can scan the QR code or follow the official account of Gansu Health Commission to log on to the online platform for consultation.

Of note is the self-examination and reporting platform for the new coronavirus pneumonia.

People who have lived in Wuhan or recently returned to Gansu can report their illness through this platform once they have a fever, a cold and other symptoms.

If the patient needs medical treatment, the Health Commission will arrange special individuals to inform the community or the hospital to arrange professional vehicles to take the patient to the designated medical institution.
