Demo zone designated for Yangtze River Delta
A demonstration zone for the eco-friendly and integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta was unveiled in Shanghai on Friday, marking an important step of the area's development.
The zone includes Qingpu district of Shanghai, Wujiang district of Suzhou, Jiangsu province and Jiashan county of Jiaxing, Zhejiang province. The area covers around 2,300 square kilometers.
Within this area, five townships were chosen to enact pilot policies, namely Jinze and Zhujiajiao in Shanghai, Lili in Jiangsu province, Xitang town and Yaozhuang town in Zhejiang province.
A council and an executive committee of the demonstration zone were also formed to better implement related new polices in the zone.
A master plan of the demonstration zone was approved by the State Council on October 25, which emphasizes sustainable development, innovation and higher-level opening-up through closer coordination among different administrative regions.
