Senior official stresses guarantee for training competent, professional officials

BEIJING - Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Chen Xi has underscored the need to provide a solid guarantee for training a contingent of competent and professional officials who are loyal, honest and responsible.
Chen, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the CPC Central Committee's Organization Department, made the remarks at a national conference on the supervision of officials, which was held in Beijng on Wednesday.
He called for efforts to improve the supervision of officials in a down-to-earth and effective manner and ensure the vast number of officials take a clear political stand, dare to tackle tough issues head-on and assume responsibilities, steer clear from corruption, and stay true to the Party's founding mission.
It is necessary to make unremitting efforts to effectively cope with many risks and challenges and win new victories for socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, Chen said.
