Senior CPC official stresses firm commitment to socialist rule of law
BEIJING - Wang Chen, a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official and chief of the China Law Society, has stressed firm commitment to promoting socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics.
Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks Monday at a meeting on the achievements the People's Republic of China has made in advancing the rule of law during the past seven decades since its founding.
Wang said the CPC, since the PRC's founding, has led the Chinese people to establish and continuously improve the Chinese socialist system of laws, at the heart of which is the Constitution.
"Respecting, learning about, observing and applying the law has won public support," he added.
Wang stressed that those engaged in work related to law should be encouraged to develop theories on socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics, deepen research on the science of law and innovate related theories.
