Procuratorial, judicial organs to boost cooperation in circuit prison inspection

BEIJING - China's Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Ministry of Justice will strengthen cooperation in conducting circuit inspections of prisons, according to a symposium held by the two organs Thursday.
The two departments will further perform their duties of criminal enforcement and raise the quality of education of convicts to safeguard national security and social stability, according to the symposium.
The endeavor is an important reform of China's overall prison inspection approach. A pilot project of the circuit inspection was unveiled in eight provincial-level regions in June 2018 and was expanded nationwide in July this year.
