China's top legislature schedules new session

BEIJING - China's top legislature will convene a new session on Sept 17 in Beijing, according to a statement issued after a chairpersons' meeting Tuesday.
Li Zhanshu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, presided over the meeting.
Legislators are expected to review a draft decision on conferring the national medal and honorary titles to outstanding individuals in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
