A 9-year-old girl from Guangzhou, Guangdong province, completed a 20-plus-kilometer swimming trip across Qiongzhou Strait in 13 hours on Wednesday.
Zhou Yihan was accompanied by six adult swimmers and a guiding boat, where her parents stayed, and ate and drank in the water during the process, reports Southern Metropolis News.
Swimming northward across the strait, from Haikou in Hainan province to Xuwen county in Guangdong, can stretch between 19 and 25 kilometers, depending on ocean flows.
