Jiangsu official under investigation
Chen Gang, director of the General Administration of Sport of China Jiangsu branch, is being investigated by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisor Commission for suspected serious violation of discipline and law, the authorities said on Friday.
No further details on the investigation have been released as of the press time.
Chen, 56, a Shanghai native, started his career in a college in Anhui province in July 1983.
He became deputy director of a management commission of a science and technology park in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, in 1999.
In March 2006, Chen became deputy mayor of Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu, and began serving as director of the country's sport administration in Jiangsu in May 2014.
