More Chinese plan for spending increase: survey
BEIJING - More Chinese residents plan to increase their spending in the future, China's central bank found in a survey.
About 26.4 percent of the surveyed 20,000 urban residents in 50 cities said they would like to spend more in the third quarter (Q3) of this year, 0.5 percentage points higher than that of the Q1 survey, according to a report released by the People's Bank of China.
Tourism topped the item list of the respondents' Q3 additional spending, followed by education and medical care.
About 52.8 percent predicted that the consumer inflation level would remain generally flat in Q3.
Chinese willingness in investment shrank in Q2, with 28.2 percent of the respondents planning for more investment, down by 1 percentage point compared with the previous survey.
