Yunnan's border police seize 39 kg drugs

KUNMING -- Border police in Southwest China's Yunnan province busted four drug trafficking cases, with 39.2 kg of drugs seized and three suspects captured, local authorities said Thursday.
On June 1, border police in the city of Pu'er seized 42 pieces of methamphetamine weighing 23.5 kg from an off-road vehicle and caught three suspects in the car.
The police busted three other drug trafficking cases on the same day, with 1.1 kg of opium, 1.7 kg of methamphetamine and heroin and 12.9 kg of methamphetamine seized.
Further investigation into the four cases is underway.
Yunnan is a major front in China's battle against drug crime, as it borders the Golden Triangle known for its rampant drug production and trafficking.
