Pet goose receives 'admission letter' from Shanghai Maritime University

A pet goose in Shanghai went viral on Chinese social media after the Shanghai Maritime University said it would keep raising it for its previous owner.
On Aug 10, a resident living in the city's Songjiang district asked the University on Sina Weibo if the school can raise the poultry, named Gugu, as she would move to a new home and could not take care of it.
On the instruction from the school leaders, the university replied that it would like to have the pet goose join the gaggle that the school raised on its lake for display, and pledged to take good care of it. Known for its love for animals, the university even set up a Sina Weibo account under the name of its gooses, owning more than 6,000 followers.
Web users applauded the university's decision to accept the goose, as one of them even designed an "admission letter" for the animal.
