Power Construction Corporation of China, the world's largest power engineering contractor, immediately set up a rescue team to aid in search efforts after two tourist boats were reported capsized off Phuket in southern Thailand on July 5.
After the accident, strong winds were still blowing as searchers worked off the tourist island of Phuket in the Andaman Sea. The Thailand branch of SINOHYDRO Corporation, a subsidiary of POWERCHINA, immediately sent five Chinese staff of the Phuket 500kv trans-ocean power transmission line to the rescue site.
