China to pilot E-ticket for high-speed trains

China is about to pilot E-ticket in some of its high-speed lines by the end of this year, reports the China News Service.
Planned to debut later this year, the trial may reportedly allow passengers to directly check in by swiping their ID cards or mobile phones, without needing a paper ticket.
People can now buy high-speed trains tickets online, but they still have to pick up a paper ticket for station check-in.
The "paperless ticket move" is expected to see a nationwide promotion next year.
