President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2018 on Tuesday, earning wide praise from entrepreneurs and scholars.

The conference runs from April 8 to 11 in Boao, a town in South China's island province of Hainan, and is themed "An Open and Innovative Asia for a World of Greater Prosperity."

Austrian publisher impressed by Xi's speech

Christian Rainer, publisher and editor-in-chief of Austria-based news magazine Profil Redaktion GmbH, said he was impressed by the speech delivered by President Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference.

What President Xi said about the automotive industry is significant for Austria because the country is a big supplier for automotive parts, he said, adding it was good for the Austrian economy a lot of restrictions China still has in that sector will be reduced.
