Xi visits epicenter of 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, lays flowers for deceased

WENCHUAN, Sichuan -- President Xi Jinping Monday visited Yingxiu town of Wenchuan county, epicenter of the magnitude 8 earthquake that hit Southwest China's Sichuan province on May 12, 2008.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, visited the ruins of a middle school, where he laid flowers in memory of more than 80,000 people killed in the earthquake and heroes who died during rescue work.
