China approves of draft amendments on Judges Law, seven other laws

BEIJING -- China's top legislature Friday passed draft amendments on eight laws, including the Judges Law, which proposed that more legal professionals should sit a new national admission exam.
The amendments were approved at the bimonthly session of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, which runs from Monday to Friday.
The amendments will take effect on Jan 1, 2018, according to the legislators.
