State Council appoints, removes officials
BEIJING -- The State Council, China's cabinet, announced the appointment and removal of several senior officials Tuesday.
Wei Shanzhong was appointed vice minister of water resources; Ye Zhenqin replaced Chen Xiaohua as vice minister of agriculture.
Wang Xiaodong was appointed vice president of Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralymic Winter Games, replacing Xu Ning.
Wu Daohuai will no longer serve as vice minister of human resources and social security; Yang Huanning was removed as head of the State Administration of Work Safety.
Li Gang will no longer be deputy director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and Fang Jianmeng will no longer hold the post of deputy head of State Oceanic Administration.
