Shenzhen has 285 kilometers subway in operation after its Line 7 and 9 were put into operation in October last year. The city expects to have 419 kilometers subway by 2020.
Currently, the daily transportation of Shenzhen subway reaches 4.5 million passengers.
In a trial operation, Shenzhen Metro Group has designated the first and last compartments of every train on Lines 1, 3, 4 and 5 as priority carriages for women since June 26 this year.
The operator launched "ladies first" subway cars, with the aim of providing a better traveling experience for female passengers and advocating care for women, which makes the city the first of the country to offer the service.
