Chinese embassy in Dhaka celebrates 90th anniversary of PLA establishment
DHAKA -- The Chinese embassy in Dhaka has hosted a reception here to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) which falls on Aug 1.
Over 500 guests including high-ranking officers and officials, politicians, diplomats and scholars attended the reception held on Monday night.
Chinese Defense Attache Zhang Wei made a welcome speech at the reception, highlighting the progress in China-Bangladesh military cooperation over the past years.
He said the two countries have witnessed frequent high-level exchanges, continuously deepening, fruitful and pragmatic cooperation.
Noting that an increasing number of Bangladeshi officers went to China for training and exchange, Zhang said it plays an important role in promoting mutual understanding and trust.
The Chinese defense attache also expressed appreciation for Bangladesh's position on issues related to China's core interests.
Bangladeshi high-ranking army officials and military attaches of other foreign countries congratulated China on the 90th anniversary of the PLA founding and its progress.
They expressed their appreciation of the efforts made by the Chinese army in active participation in maintaining regional and world peace and stability.
