Feb 26, 1985: Report on a substantial absorption of outstanding intellectuals into the Party

On Feb 26, 1985, the General Office of the CPC Central Committee transmitted a report on a substantial absorption of outstanding intellectuals into the Party, which was made by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.

The "Report" required Party committees at all levels to pay great attention to the fact that most Party members were of a low education level, and to absorb into the Party a large number of outstanding intellectuals who were determined to make contributions to the cause of socialist modernization and the construction of communism.
