MOSCOW - The first meeting of the China-Russia Joint Border Inspection Committee concluded in Moscow Friday, with several documents inked by both sides on joint border inspection.

During the two-day talks, committee members from China and Russia had friendly and candid discussions on joint border inspection and agreed on working plans for further cooperation on the issue.

The meeting also launched the two countries' first-ever joint border inspection, which is seen as a significant move to ensure peace, stability and development in the border areas between the two countries.

In recent years, landscapes and some landmarks of the China-Russia border have changed due to natural and human factors. During the joint inspection, the two sides will inspect a 4,000-km stretch of the east and the west boundaries of the China-Russia border. The inspection will not change the China-Russia border agreed by two sides before.
