BANGKOK - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Tuesday said the new cabinet lineup had been submitted to the Office of His Majesty's Principal Private Secretary via the Cabinet secretary-general. The lineup is still pending royal endorsement.
Speaking to reporters at Pheu Thai Party headquarters one day after being royally endorsed as the country's first female prime minister, Yingluck did not disclose names of her cabinet. But she unveiled only that the new foreign minister is a party member with well-rounded knowledge of foreign affairs.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet secretary-general Amphol Kittiamphol said the Secretariat of the Cabinet received cabinet lineup from Yingluck and forwarded it to the Office of His Majesty's Principal Private Secretary already.
After being endorsed, the new cabinet will need to swear an oath of allegiance to His Majesty the King and the new government will deliver its policy statement before the Parliament.
The first female prime minister herself received royal endorsement on Monday, few days after parliamentary voting on August 5 when she was elected as a new premier.
