A small administrative unit in southern Mongolia was quarantined late last month due to an outbreak of rabies among livestock and wild animals.

Mongolian herdsmen are supposed to have greater opportunities to export their livestock and meat to foreign countries if the experts say the livestock is free from any infectious diseases.

Countries interested in such imports have demanded a food safety guarantee from the Mongolian Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry.
