Stanley Park is a large expanse of grass, trees and tourist attractions near the city's downtown. Koenig, whose home was in Los Angeles, was visiting friends in Vancouver.
Further details are expected at a news conference set for late afternoon in Vancouver, police said.
Koenig, 41, portrayed Richard "Boner" Stabone on "Growing Pains," and since then has had mostly small roles on TV and in the movies. His disappearance caused friends including actress Alyssa Milano, actor Kirk Cameron and comedian Sara Silverman to post comments online or put out statements seeking information on his whereabouts.
Walter Koenig played navigator Pavel Chekov in the "Star Trek" series.
