All air passengers bound for the United States from foreign countries will face tightened random screening efforts under the new US Transportation Security Administration rules, with special attention given to travelers from those seven countries, Politico reported.

Politico quoted an unnamed senior Obama administration official as calling the new screening procedures "sustainable measures that are a significant enhancement of our security posture."

The seven countries include the four that the United States lists as "State Sponsors of Terrorism" as well as Nigeria, Pakistan and Yemen.
