WASHINGTON -- US President George W. Bush and his wife reported taxable income of $719,274 for 2007 and paid $221,635 in federal income taxes, the White House disclosed Friday.

They also contributed a total of $165,660 to churches and charitable organizations last year, according to tax reports released by the White House.

Bush's income included presidential salary, which is about $400,000 a year, and investment income from the trusts in which his and his wife's assets are held.

Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife earned nearly $3 million and owe taxes of $602,651.
