KATHMANDU - At least three persons were killed and 9 others were injured when a tractor met with an accident on Mahendra Highway in Banke district in mid-western Nepal Saturday night, local media reported on Sunday.

According to a leading website THT Online report, the accident occurred after the tractor's brakes failed.

According to Govind Damai of Banke Police Office, one person died on the spot, some 365 km west of Kathmandu, while two others passed away while undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
