II. Alteration, Ticket Return, Ticket Privileges for Infants and Children, and Candidate Check-In

1. Alteration

Alteration: changing the airline as shown on the ticket at the request of the passenger or on account of the airline.

Voluntary Alteration: the original airline is changed due to a passenger’s request.

Involuntary Alteration: where a passenger cannot finish the journey on the original flight due to the airline, the original airline shall arrange a flight on another airline to continue the journey.

(As the regulation varies by airline, passengers must comply with the relevant regulations)

2. Ticket Return

Ticket Return: if the passenger doesn’t finish a part or a whole voyage within the valid period because of other passengers, airlines or weather, he/she may ask for a refund of a portion or all of the unused fare as well as the related fuel surcharge and the airport construction fee. The cancellation can only be handled at the original ticket-office, the original departure location, and the airline or agent ticket-office where the flight was terminated. The fare can only be returned to the holder or payer of the ticket.

Voluntary Ticket Return: if a passenger doesn’t finish part or a whole voyage within the effective period, he/she may ask for a ticket return for personal reasons. Beside the valid ticket, the passenger shall provide the valid identity certificate. The ticket is returned as follows:

(1)10% of the fare shall be charged if the passenger wants to return the ticket within 2 to 24 hours before departure time. If the passenger wants to return the ticket within 2 hours before departure time, 20% of the fare shall be charged. If the passenger wants to return the ticket after the departure, then it will be deemed as missing the flight.

(2)Follow part I if a passenger holds a connecting flight ticket or a round-trip ticket.

(3)No fare shall be charged if the passenger is a revolutionary disabled veteran.

(4)No fare shall be charged for passengers holding an infant ticket.

(5)The ticket should be returned at the original ticket-office within the valid period if the passenger holds an open ticket.

(6)The unused fare of the flight cannot be returned if the passenger voluntarily ends the trip while transferring airplanes.

Involuntary Ticket Return: a passenger wants a ticket return if the airline cannot carry passengers as usual or for other force majeure.

The departure airport shall return the fare in full, and the airline stop shall return the unused fare without without a cancellation fee if the flight is cancelled, delayed, changed or arrives early, or the airline cannot provide the original seat.

The starting station shall return the fare in full, and the transfer airport shall return the unused fare without without a cancellation fee, if the passenger asks for a ticket return due to illness and offers the certificate of medical treatment unit.

If a traveler accompanying sick passengers asks for a ticket return, then part 1 in this article shall prevail.

(As different airline have different restrictions on ticket return, passengers must comply with the airline restrictions)

3.Ticket Privilege for Infants and Children

Children refer to those between the age of 2-12 years. The price of a children’s ticket is 50% of the adult ticket. The ticket shall provide a seat.

Infant refers to babies below 2-years-old. The price of the infant ticket is 10% of the adult ticket, and the ticket shall provide no seat. If a seat is needed, then the passenger shall buy a children’s ticket. When the passenger brings more than one infant, other infants shall buy the children ticket.

When check-in with the infant ticket or the children ticket, the passenger shall provide the valid certificate of the birth date, such as the Household Register or Birth Certificate.

4. Candidate Check-In

Passenger’s without tickets or passengers with an open ticket (the seat is undetermined) can wait at the Alternate Counter of the airline flight. If there is a free seat on that flight, then the waiting passenger will get the ticket and check-in in turns.
