Chongqing’s municipal office for port services recently said that the city now has seven ports and ten venues with port functions.

The ports and venues have 16 functions including importing cars, fruits and meat.

There are four first-ranking ports including the Chongqing Jiangbei Airport, Chongqing Wanzhou Airport, a water transportation port and a railway port.

Chongqing also designates ports for some imports such as fruit, meet and Australian beef. The Jiangbei airport has some special functions regarding visa handling and renewal of Mainland Travel Permits of Taiwan Residents which are valid for five years.

There are also trials underway for three extended importing businesses pertaining to cross-border trading, e-commerce service and diversified trading.
