Chongqing will establish a coffee trading center in April, liangjiang.gov.cn reported.

The trading center will combine traditional trade and e-commerce and online-offline modes and strive to reach revenue of five to six billion yuan.

To better promote online sales, a cross-border e-commerce business named Coffee Business Valley will be officially launched in April this year.

A coffee processing base will also be established in Chongqing to work on deep processing of coffee to serve the customers better.

The Chongqing Energy Group plans to build Chongqing into the biggest electronic coffee trading center and the most important one overall.

The Chongqing Municipal Government also plans to build Chongqing into the third largest coffee trading center in the world.

Coffee is globally the second largest commodity. Coffee consumption in China is increasing annually by more than 25 percent, 10 times the world’s average rate of increase.

The Chinese coffee consumption market is expected to surpass the American market to become the world’s largest.
