National Development and Reform Commission visits Kunming Hi-Tech Zone

The Department of West Region’s Development of the National Development and Reform Commission, a macroeconomic management agency under the Chinese State Council, sent a visiting group to the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone on March 19 to find out about the Zone’s economic development.

The working group visited representative enterprises in advanced equipment manufacturing, non-ferrous metals, salt chemical engineering and financial industries within the Zone and were briefed about their development conditions and challenges during daily operations.

After that, Zhai Dongsheng, vice director of the Department of West Region’s Development, expressed his comments and advice concerning economic environment, demand and supply, market competition and financial support.

Zhai said that the visit aimed at finding out enterprises’ difficulties so that the National Development and Reform Commission could tailor some supportive policies according to their needs. The visiting group will take the opinions expressed by the enterprises in the Zone into consideration and explore new measures to boost its development.
