The newly-completed base will provide better fuel and fresh water supplies for domestic and foreign ships travelling through Tianjin Port, especially for those calling at Tianjin Nanjiang Port.

Thanks to its reservoir base, Tianjin Port will not only realize the complementation between Nanjiang Port and Beijiang Port, but also become a gateway for fuel and fresh water covering the greater Bohai region.

Tianjin Port’s recent high-pace development has been attracting a greater number of arriving ships. As the main department serving fuel and fresh water to arriving ships, China Marine Bunker Supply Company Tianjin Branch (CMBSC Tianjin) has expedited the enterprises’ transition process and constructed new wharfs and reservoir bases to better satisfy market needs.

The reservoir base is located in the south of Nanjiang Port, to the south of Dagusha Fairway, and to the west of Sinochem Tianjin Petrochemical Dock Co. It also lies along the Haihe River, across the Tianjin Harbor Economic Area.

The on-land area of the first phase project is 147,000 square meters. Around 3.8 million tons of freight are transported through the base every year. Its storage area is facilitated with eleven oil tanks with a total capacity of 352,000 cubic meters. It has also reserved an area of 170,000 cubic meters for the second phase of the project.

The length of the port’s shoreline is around 260 meters. And its frontage depth reaches 6.5 meters. Furthermore, its berth level is 5000 tons, which can provide space for a 3000-ton ship and a 2000-ton ship to park there at the same time. The port owns professional facilities, such as loading arms, pipe racks, and pipelines. Its annual handling capacity reaches 800,000 tons.

Operated by CMBSC Tianjin, the base provides services including fuel, fresh water, and lubricating oil supplies as well as transportation of gas and liquid chemical products.

CMBSC Tianjin’s oil depot occupies 140,000 square meters in Beijiang Port and Nanjiang Port. With two fully-facilitated ports and 27 thousand-ton level and ten thousand-ton level oil tanks, the oil depot’s total capacity is 211,000 cubic meters. Different types of pipeline connect the oil depot and the port, which guarantees an immediate 24-hour service for various ships.

In addition, CMBSC Tianjin has nine self-propelling fuel and water supply ships weighing from 500- to 3000-tons, several of which have coastal transporting ability. CMBSC Tianjin is the only liquid chemical enterprise in Tianjin Port that provides fuel supply, rail-sea transportation, storage, and transition.
