Zhou Qiang, chief justice and president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), addressed the opening ceremony, calling for "accelerating transformation and upgrading, and opening a new chapter in legal publishing".

Zhou spoke highly of the people's court press for its contribution to outstanding legal publications.

Zhou said traditional publications should join with new media in this era of media convergence.

New technologies should also be used to improve the quality of products and services, according to Zhou.

Industrial transformation should be accelerated, said Zhou, adding that Internet-based digital printing should be well received.

The new group should also establish broader international cooperation and tell the Chinese legal story to the rest of the world, added Zhou.
