A seminar on legislation and criminal justice provisions against cyber crime was held in Beijing on June 18.

Hu Yunteng, a member of the judicial committee of China’s Supreme People's Court (SPC), addressed the seminar.

Hu said that over the past couple of years China has investigated cyber crime closely and has developed a series of judicial interpretations to fight it.

In 2014, the SPC, the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Ministry of Public Security issued advice on fighting cyber crime and made the responsibility of each department clear, according to Hu.

Participants also touched upon relevant issues, including Internet terrorism, Internet financial crime and new types of cyber crime.

Hosted by the Institute of Law with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the seminar attracted scholars and legal experts from over 20 universities, law firms and Internet companies.
