Xi county, in the city of Linfen, Shanxi province, will be holding its third China Pear Flower Festival, starting April 6 and lasting for six days, with more than 10 activities, including revolutionary tourist attractions, a pear exhibition park, a “Pear Flower Cup” opera contest, pear town photograph competition, and pear flower-related literary forms.

The festival is intended to integrate the county’s tourism resources with the beautiful pear park scenery and promote its new “ Hometown of China Pears” image and rural tourism development.

The county got the “Hometown of China Pears” designation from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Forestry Ministry because of its 108 varieties of pears and other fruits, with the pear being the most characteristic. Its pears have claimed the “No.1 pear in the world” title.
