In 2009, Zilin made a five-year development plan to meet increasing market demand and gear itself to international standards. Its most important effort was to expand its production line with an enlarged industrial park. According to the plan, 460 million yuan ($72.6 million) will be invested. After completion the industrial park will cover over 300 mu (20 hectares), with annual output amounting to 300,000 tons, significantly promoting Zilin Vinegar’s development, Shanxi Daily reported

Equipped with a mechanized production line and innovative production techniques, the new plant is expected to generate direct economic benefit of 360 million yuan, absorb 2,000 surplus rural laborers, and spearhead the integrated development of packaging, transportation and farm industries around the area.
