Datong saw a 10.2 percent increase of investment in service sector during the 1st quarter

In the first quarter of 2012, the investments among Datong’s three industries share the proportion of 0.9: 46.2: 52.9 respectively, compared with 2.8: 30.1: 67.1 of the same period in 2011. The tertiary sector plays the leading role in driving the economy.

Investment in the primary industry in the city totaled 30 million yuan ($4.74 million), a 54.5 percent decline over the same period last year.

The secondary industry investment reached 1,300 million yuan, up 114 percent over the same period, among which Industrial investments achieved 1,300 million yuan, up 130.1 percent. Power investments amounted to 580 million yuan, with a rapid growth rate of 219.3 percent.

The tertiary industry received an investment of 1,490 million yuan, up 10.2 percent, with a rapid growth in the culture, sports, entertainment and the transportation industry.
