The Solar Decathlon, known as the Olympics in the solar energy realm, will be held in Datong, a city of central China's Shanxi province in 2013.
It is the first time for the Solar Decathlon to hold in Asia.
As part of the China-U.S. Energy Collaborative Program, the 2013 event will be jointly held by the China National Energy Administration and the U.S. Department of Energy, said Li Xiaopeng, the vice governor of Shanxi province.
The major venues, square, post-event works exhibition center, and other projects for the Solar Decathlon are all under smooth construction, said Datong Party Chief Feng Lixiang.
