Shanxi vice-governor meets with diplomatic delegation

Zhang Ping, the vice-governor of Shanxi province, met with a delegation of scientific and technological affairs officers from Chinese embassies around the world, on Feb 16, in Taiyuan, Shanxi. The head of the delegation was Jin Xiaoming, head of the Science and Technology Ministry’s international cooperation department.

Speaking on behalf of the Shanxi Party committee and provincial government, Zhang told the group that Shanxi is vigorously promoting an experimental zone for reforms and that he hoped the delegation members could advise Shanxi companies on international scientific and technological cooperation.

The province wants to speed up work on the zone and technology cooperation with developed countries, introduce more talented people from overseas, and improve science and technology development in Shanxi province with international resources.

The delegation consisted of scientific and technological affairs counselors from China’s embassies in the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, France, Canada, Israel, and the European Union. Over the following four days, the delegation visited the cities of Taiyuan, Jinzhong, Jincheng and Changzhi.
