(China Daily Africa) Updated: 2018-09-21

Li Wei, 63, is the son of Jinan shadow puppet show master Li Xingtang. He learned shadow puppet per-formance from his father as a child. After his father died 11 years ago, Li Wei took over the task of developing and innovating the art of Jinan puppet shows. Since summer last year, Li has presented traditional shadow puppet plays at the Baihuazhou scenic area in Jinan every weekend for free.
