The opening ceremony for Haiyang Boxing Association was held on March 10 at the Xinyuan Square in Haiyang City, Shandong province. During the ceremony, Li Dongjiang, the seventh-generation of mantis boxing presented the classic mantis boxing book to the association.

Some generations of other Chinese martial arts like Eight Diagrams Palm, Tai Chi and Plum Flower Boxing were also invited to show performances in the ceremony to celebrate the set-up of the association.

Mantis Boxing is one of the four famous boxing arts in Shandong along with Sunbin, Sitong and Wensheng Boxing. It is also among the first nine martial arts to get systematically collation and research by the national sports administration martial arts sport management center.
