Art exhibition for fresh graduates opens in Ji’nan

The second “Qingweiliao” art exhibition opened at Shandong Art Museum in Ji’nan, Shandong province on July 24. The annual exhibition is held for fresh graduates in the province and will last until Aug 6 this year.

Organizers of the exhibition received a total of 1,368 paintings, 246 of which were displayed, including 96 traditional Chinese paintings, 89 oil paintings, 25 engravings, 14 sculptures and 8 murals.

As part of the event, the “Liu Dawei Arts Award” was presented, after judges reviewed 58 winning entries. Ten paintings were selected to receive the “Liu Dawei Arts Award”, alongside 18 honorable mentions and 30 nominations.

The exhibition displays art work selected from a pool of fresh graduates of local universities and colleges in Shandong and aims to promote the education and creation of fine art in the province, according to Wang Tingqi, deputy director of the Shandong provincial department of culture.
