Service Outsourcing

Service outsourcing industry thrives in Xiamen
2012-10-12

According to the Xiamen Bureau of Commerce, the value of registered service outsourcing contracts in the first seven months of 2012 reached $940 million, with actual paid-in amount totaling $650 million, 45 percent higher than last year. In recent years, there has been a boom in the service outsourcing industry in China. Because the State Council has recognized Xiamen as a Model City of Chinese Service Outsourcing, the municipal government of Xiamen has placed great emphasis on the development of service outsourcing.

Statistics from the Xiamen bureau of commerce show that the value of signed contracts for service outsourcing in 2011 and the amount of actual paid-in investment in 2011 increased by 37.2 percent and 30.1 percent, respectively. The first half-year of 2012 has maintained strong growth momentum as the value of registered service outsourcing contracts and the amount of actual paid-in investment increased by 54.9 percent and 47.5 percent, respectively.

After being acknowledged as a Model City of Chinese Service Outsourcing in February 2010, Xiamen invested 25 million yuan ($3.97 million) to support more than 100 service-outsourcing corporations and established platforms for service outsourcing. In total, the exempted business tax of more than 50 corporations has surpassed 30 million yuan ($4.77 million).
