To quicken the construction of housing relocation and resettlement, Ren Xueyuan, director of the managing committee of Huaqiao economic development zone, held a meeting to discuss how to solve the difficulties and establish an effective mechanism.

As of the end of July, the resettlement houses for the households to be relocated have reached 1.4 million square meters. Due to the lag in construction of resettlement houses, many households are still living in transition houses, arousing great concern from the managing committee. Ren heard the reports on the construction progresses and put forward three requirements.

The first is to promote cooperative mechanisms.

The second is to respect the masses – publicize the timetable to them, seek suggestions and advice and ensure their benefits.

The third is to establish a supervision mechanism – the design company should serve and supervise the construction on site.

Those attending the meeting included Shen Huafei, Zhang Jianwen, Tangnaixin, Cheng Wenrong, vice directors of the managing committee and other officials from the planning and construction bureau, national land bureau Huaqiao branch and local streets.
