According to the Provincial Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Department, 728 affordable housing projects and 204,300 home units in run-down areas began construction by the end of July.

Housing projects totaling 306 and 87,000 units of redevelopment homes were finished by the end of July, accounting for 58.1 percent of the responsibility target. Affordable housing units totaling 162 and 55,500 houses in run-down areas had been allocated and settled, accounting for 43 percent of the annual housing plan. Cangzhou and Zhangjiakou completed 80 percent of housing starts before the end of August. Handan, Qinghuangdao, Tangshan, Xingtai, Hengshui and Langfang lag behind the average provincial level in terms of housing starts. In terms of completion, Zhangjiakou and Handan take the lead in Hebei. Chengde, Hengshui, Xingtai, Baoding, Caozhou and Tangshan are below the provincial average level in terms of completion rate. Baoding, Xingtai, Chengde and Hengshui have not reached 50 percent. Handan is the first in terms of distribution occupancy rate.
