Conference on tourism development in Guizhou

Highlighting the innovation of Guizhou's tourism and pushing forward its transition, the eighth Conference on Tourism Development in Guizhou will open in Liupanshui of Guizhou province on August 8.

This year's conference intends to host an innovative meeting for exchange concerning building 100 tourist attractions in Guizhou, according to Yang Jun, deputy director of the Tourism Administration of Guizhou province.

Through the brainstorm, it could find out new ideas for tourism development to help Guizhou overtake other places.

Yang said the conference features the upgrade of transportation, urban functional infrastructure and tourism products.

To promote the travel industry's transformation from traditional sightseeing to leisure and experience, Liupanshui city has invested 24.9 billion yuan ($4.06 billion) to build 99 projects. Up to now, 64 of them have been completed.

The conference also provides a good opportunity for Liupanshui to greatly improve its city image. It has started to build various infrastructures such as an art gallery, museum, city planning exhibition hall, grand theatre, convention center and Olympic sports center, all of which may create a habitable environment for citizens.
