More than 6 million in Guizhou to receive living allowances

Guizhou will grant lump-sum living allowances to six million needy people between Jan 28 and Feb 9, said the Guizhou Provincial Department of Civil Affairs.

The lump-sum living allowance recipients include subsistence allowance recipients in urban and rural areas, and childless and infirm rural residents who are entitled to five forms of support (food, clothing, medical care, housing and burial expenses). The total amount of the lump-sum living allowance is 1.22 billion yuan ($196 million).
