Industry development and the encouragement of start-up businesses were key to enhancing the employment rate in 2012 in Guizhou province.

Roughly 420,000 people found employment in Guizhou in 2012, a year-on-year increase of 48 percent. Of the total figure, 160,000 found work in industrial parks.

The implementation of small loans has helped people start businesses and increase employment opportunities.
